TEACHING ARTIST

Jessica has been a Teaching Artist in the NYC area at After School Programs, Performing Arts Schools, Theater Companies, and Summer Camps working with Pre-School to College students including those with disabilities in techniques from Acting to Musical Theatre to Creative Arts to Baking to Community Building. She taught a variety of these classes for five years for a top-ranked Manhattan after-school program.

Jessica truly considers herself a Teaching Artist because when she is not rehearsing or performing, she is in a classroom with kids sharing her craft and guiding them to grow as thoughtful artists and community members in a supportive, challenging yet fun environment. Their minds hold stories of such imagination and possibility, and her focus is for each student to discover what's unique to them and accepting others as such. It's truly about the ensemble as family and the support for each other not only on the stage but in everyday life.

When directing and/or choreographing full productions, she is capable of designing and creating sets, costumes, and props thanks to her artistic training at The Savannah College of Art and Design.

COACHING

Jessica coaches her students on the Actor's Instrument which includes Movement, Voice, and Thought as learned from her Masters training at the prestigious Bristol Old Vic. She fully supports her acting students to discover and understand what they each have to offer in addition to honoring the text (both classical & contemporary) or lyrics.

Having gone through auditions and callbacks at the top Graduate Acting Schools as well as being on the other side of the table for BOVTS, Jessica understands the unique experience of preparing and showcasing yourself amongst many applicants.

She is available for Coaching and Masterclasses such as Undergraduate/Graduate School Auditions, Acting through Song, Understanding the Classics, Improv, Musical Improv, and more. Simply send along a message on the Contact Page.
